Former Prime Minister & BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is holding a one-on-one meeting at her gulshan office, in Dhaka with British High Commissioner Robert Gibson.

This is the first meeting of BNP leader with a diplomat Robert Gibson’s since the agitation began since Jan 3,2015.

The black Land Cruiser carrying Robert Gibson entered the office around 5pm on Wednesday. Its mentioned that the main gate of gulshan Office had been closed since Jan 3, when Khaleda announced the transport blockade on Jan 5, the first anniversary of the last general election boycotted by her party and allies.

A pick-up truck blocking the gate was removed minutes before the British envoy had arrived. Is Emmergency coming in Bangladesh?

BNP chief’s Advisor Sabih Uddin Ahmed, her Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan and Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas welcomed Robert Gibson.
The BNP chairperson had been surrounded by police in her office since Jan 3 and on Jan 5, they prevented her from coming out to lead anti-government protests on the first anniversary of the last general election.

The non-stop nationwide transport blockade has left at least 60 people killed so far, most burnt to death in arson attacks.
The US, EU, UK and Canada have called for an immediate end to violence . India has left it to Bangladesh to resolve its own crisis.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, on the dated of 17th to 20th of February, 2015, a delegation team from the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights will visit Bangladesh.

The European Union's Office in Dhaka, said in a letter.
Committee delegation will be led by Vice President Christian Dan traders where As a member of the team will come with the Iujepha Bheidenaholasara and Carroll Karaski.Besides this,the two officers and an advisor to the European Parliament will be with them.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperation has been sought to organize a meeting with the delegation and the Speaker of the Parliament, the Foreign Affairs & The law Minister in the letter.

The meeting has been sought on February 19,2015.

In this Tour, they will discuss with Civil Society and NGO's Offcials as well.Among other things, they will talk about the proposed Broadcasting Policies of Bangladesh.
